Does anyone think Ebay would benefit from social networking ?

Apparently there are plans to introduce a social networking element to Ebay. Does anyone think this would be a good idea ?


Personally I use Ebay to buy and sell and think that this may be detrimental to the sitre as a whole,

Does anyone think Ebay would benefit from social networking ?
There's more than enough Social Networking sites as it is so I think this would be an unnessecary thing to have on ebay. It is a buying %26amp; selling site after all.
Reply:I can see why they would introduce it (it would largely benefit sellers and buyers alike) however I think eBay is fine just the way it is. I mean you don't really need to meet up with people and find out what they're selling - they already have a perfectly good search button for that.
Reply:I mean this isnt an online social community. I feel that if they add this feature it wont boost sells, or marketing. Ebay is fine just the way it is. Buying and selling wont benefit from social networking. It will be a total waste of time, and money.
